If you are having problems submitting a client or member form to the OMLN, here are some ways to get around known issues.
The form's fields are appearing blank
There is a known compatability issue with using Preview on a Mac OS computer to fill out the form, where you enter data into the form fields, but the fields appear blank afterward. In fact, the data you have entered is in the form, but the form is displaying it incorrectly.
You can determine whether this is the problem by entering data into the form, saving it, and then reopening it. Upon reopening the form, the fields may appear blank. But if you click on the field where you entered the text, the text may reappear. If this happens, you are encountering this display bug.
If you are encountering this problem, please fill out the form completely, save it, and then email it to us. We can fix the display issue once we receive the form. If we are unable to do so, we will contact you to find another method of getting us the information we need.
The form does not allow you to save
If upon opening a form in Acrobat Reader you receive a message saying "You cannot save a completed copy of this form on your computer," you should go to our website and download the form again. This error message is usually caused by using the "Save a Copy" function in Acrobat or by saving it using Mac Preview and then opening it in Acrobat. A new download of the form should circumvent this error. If this error persists, please contact us at legalhelp <at> omln-dot-org.
The form's "submit via email" button doesn't work
The "submit via email" button found on our Intake Form automatically opens your computer's default email program, creates an email addressed to the OMLN, and attaches the form to that email. If the button does not work for you, you should open your email program yourself and manually send the form to us at legalhelp <at> omln-dot-org.
